Professional
societies provide an excellent means of keeping current and in touch
with other professionals in the field. These groups can play a key role
in your development and keep you abreast of what is happening in your
field. Associations promote the interests of their members and provide a
network of contacts that can help you find jobs and move your career
forward. They can offer a variety of services including job referral
services, continuing education courses, insurance, travel benefits,

on Technology Teacher Education
The Council on Technology
Teacher Education (CTTE) is the international professional organization
focusing on the the needs of Technology Teacher Education. The CTTE is
affiliated with the
International Technology
Education Association and the Technology Education Collegiate
Association.
International
Technology Education Association
The International
Technology Education Association (ITEA) is a professional organization
for technology, innovation, design, and engineering educators. Their
mission is to promote technological literacy for all by supporting the
teaching of technology and promoting the professionalism of those
engaged in these pursuits. ITEA strengthens the profession through
leadership, professional development, membership services, publications,
and classroom activities. ITEA represents more than 35,000 secondary
technology educators in the U.S. alone who are developers,
administrators, and university personnel in the field representing all
levels of education. ITEA corporate members are comprised of leading
technology companies.
