"My most significant
extracurricular duty is coaching the engineering team. For the
past five years, the students have entered a design competition
sponsored by the Junior Engineering Technical Society. This year
we entered a local human powered hovercraft competition. The
team worked during evenings and weekends to design and build
their hovercraft. We built the frame of round aluminum stock,
welded part of a bike body to the frame, attached the bike drive
mechanism to a squirrel cage fan, and used shrink-wrap to make
the skirt." |
