"Have many interests outside of school, hone communication skills, and ask a lot of questions."

"Get yourself involved. Don't just sit around and wait for things to happen, because generally they won't. Very few opportunities just come to you. You've got to get out there, get your fingers dirty, get your hands dirty. Get into the processes. Get into anything you can. And in that way you will broaden your experience and you'll be more marketable. And you'll also be a better asset to the company in general. You'll become a great asset. And they won't want to get rid of you. They'll want to keep you around. They'll want to pay you anything and do anything to make you happy - for you to stay."
