Gwen Anson works on a multidisciplinary team which is in charge of
monitoring operations for gas fields in South Texas. The team consists of
a number of engineers, reservoir engineers, production engineers, drilling
engineers, facilities engineers, as well as a geologist and geophysicist. |
 Anson:
"I come in thinking I'm going to get a lot accomplished with these large
blocks of time that I lay out and then I start out and proceed to be
interrupted constantly, and that's part of more work with fewer people.
And also working on a field team. The other - the other professionals on
the team need - need to answer questions for them, as well I need then to
answer questions for me. So we're constantly running back and forth in and
out of each other's offices saying, "Can you take a look at this project?"
Well that's an interruption, because that wasn't what I planned to work on
for that day. So there's a little bit of juggling with that. Trying to
make sure that I'm getting my work done while I'm satisfying the needs of
other people who need information from me."
Anson:
