Even so, as a group, engineers earn some of the highest average starting
salaries among those holding bachelor's degrees.

According to the U.S. Bureau of
Labor Statistics, the median annual earnings of nuclear
engineers are about $97,080.
The lowest 10%
earned $68,300. The highest 10% earned $136,880.
According to a
July 2009 survey by the National Association of Colleges and
Employers, the average starting salary for nuclear
engineers who have earned a Bachelor's degree is $61,610.
